Hello, I’m Evo

I come to coaching from a career of 25+ years in product design for startups, agencies, and major tech companies in the Bay Area. As a designer, I loved building things to improve people’s lives. As a leader, my favorite part was supporting my team to do their best work by being a thought and accountability partner, mentor, and advocate. I have been coaching for growth and designing change for a long time.

I am Asian-American, born and raised in California until I was twelve when I moved to Taiwan where my parents are from. This uprooting made me sensitive to personal and social issues of race, identity, culture and belonging at an early age. I resonated with the conforming collectivism of Eastern philosophies (Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism), but was also magnetized by the dynamic pull of American individualism. I internalized these polarities.

My curiosity to see other parts of the world led me on a year-long backpacking journey in the pre-dawn era of the Global Internet. I traveled slow and low to the ground. I became a super-observer of people, their stories, outlook and imaginings. I’m sure this is what led me into my design career (cognitive psychology + systems-thinking + problem-solving).

My journey ultimately turned inwards. I studied ancient and modern spiritual traditions, trained as a yoga instructor, and pursued all manner of personal development. In 2020, I received my ICF coaching certification and training from the Co-active Training Institute (CTI).

For me, coaching and design are both creative disciplines with transformative potential for the world. I hope to share my passion by helping you live your’s!
